OUR VICARS AND LEADERS


We have two vicars serving across the team covering six churches between them: James serving Bowness, Ings and Kentmere, and Lawrence serving Staveley, Troutbeck and Windermere.

The Revd James Richards was licensed as Rector of St. Martin's in Bowness in 199James Richards9 and Assistant Priest to Ings, Kentmere, Staveley, Troutbeck and Windermere in December 2019. He became Team Rector when the new team came into being on 1st November, 2020.

He was trained at Cranmer Hall and served curacies in Harrow and Kendal.

James is married to Revd Jane Maycock and they have four children.

Lawrence BashamThe Revd Lawrence Basham joined us as  Team Vicar in October 2021

He trained with St Hild College, Yorkshire but before that had completed a theological degree at Cliff College, Derbyshire. He came to Carlisle Diocese as a curate at St. John's, Keswick.

Lawrence is married to Jemma and they have four children.

Mr Ian Durrell - Commissioned Local Lay Minister who serves at St. Mary's Windermere

We are also blessed with lay leaders who are trained to lead our services, pastoral visitors and many church members who carry out numerous essential roles within our churches.
